Hearing the call of the stranger, Noah turned around to face towards the PC, catching a small glimpse of Pikachu. Sighing in relief, the young trainer quickly made his way over, snatching up the Mouse Pokémon in both arms. Squirtle was a bit slower to get over to the group, carefully trying to balance the malasadas while trying to avoid other trainers, but soon made it over to his trainer, completely unaware of what just happened. "Pikachu, don't run off like that again!" Noah told his Pokémon. "I mean, we haven't even been in Alola for a hour. We can't get lost already." Pikachu gave off an apologetic squeak before Noah set her back down on the ground, next to Squirtle. The two Pokémon proceeded to take a malasada and started to dig in. The young trainer turned to face the man who found Pikachu, ready to thank him for helping out. Yet, he paused for a moment, realizing that the man looked familiar from somewhere. They never met in person, of course, but he had a basic idea on where he saw him. "Thanks for the help, sir," Noah started off, smiling. "Now, give me a moment, I'm trying to remember who you are. I swear I saw you on a TV once a week or two ago." |

"We haven't even been in Alola for a hour. We can't get lost already." Hmm. an interesting statement to say the least. So this young man arrived recently too, he was likely one of the run of the mill names he saw on the flight list. He seemed harmless enough, perhaps in need of better control of his Pokémon, but not a bad kid overall. Steven kept his mostly stoic expression, a slight smile on his face giving him a polite air about him. He'd only been in Alola for a brief time, and already he'd met so many interesting people. Foreigners and locals alike. Ookido's words stuck in the back of his mind, but he was going to fret over that later, it was best to just let the people enjoy the peace while it lasted. "Now, give me a moment, I'm trying to remember who you are. I swear I saw you on a TV once a week or two ago." To this, Steven gave a faint sigh. It seemed he couldn't go anywhere without being recognized nowadays. Sure, it was to be expected, he was the former Hoenn champ turned future president of the Devon cooperation. Being recognized had become normal for him now. He could always book private flights and avoid public places, but what would be gained by that. In order to understand people, Pokémon, and the world one had to be willing to experience it in its most raw form. Regardless of how tiring being recognized got. "Yes, I suspect you saw me on one of the Devon commercials, or perhaps on the Hoenn News Network. Steven Stone. It's a pleasure." Today had already been nonstop interactions with people, after this, he was definitely going to retire to the new Villa he'd purchased and get some work done. It was a wonder how Wallace remained as sociable and lively as he did. Perhaps it was unfair to compare himself to Wallace though, they were perhaps two sides of the same coin. He was letting his mind wander though, he had to keep his attention on the situation at hand. "Now, what might your name be?" |

"Ooh, I remember now," Noah snapped his fingers when the man introduced himself. "Like, I still don't really know who you are, but you gotta be important 'cause you're on TV!" Noah appeared to be star struck, gazing at Steven in awe. He still had no clue who the man was exactly but had to be big news if he was on TV more than once. He figured that it would be best to get to know this stranger, try to figure out what he was known for, and maybe make a new friend in doing so. Squirtle and Pikachu did not really care much for their trainers interaction, focusing on eating their malasadas. While the latter had started eating her second one, the former was halfway through his fourth and still hungry for more. "Oh, my name is Noah, nice to meet you!" Noah introduced himself with a grin. "So, Steven, are you on vacation or something? Filming another commercial? Or is it a third option that I forgot to consider?" |

It was strange to meet someone who knew him not as the CEO of Devon, or as the man who held the title of Hoenn champion. Even the Omega and Alpha incident with Groudon and Kyogre would have talk on a global scale. The weather phenomena caused by the two shifted global weather patterns for months, disrupting global trends. Strange that this boy seemingly knew him from a commercial instead of his more noteworthy feats. He didn't mind it though. In fact, there was an odd charm to it all. So rarely was he able to go someplace and not be recognized by most every person he talked to. Sure this boy had responded with the usual "don't I know you from somewhere," but his actual knowledge base was limited and charming. He'd humor the boy, for now, after all, it was his responsibility to serve as the face of Devon, and as a face, people could look to in these troubled times. "So, Steven, are you on vacation or something?" Vacation, what a novel idea. it had only been a week since his sister had suggested the same idea. Nowadays there wasn't time to sit back and take a vacation. Besides, his idea of a vacation varied wildly from what others would have in mind. Sitting on a beach wasn't for him, no matter how much Wallace and his sister claimed it to be the best thing. He'd much rather spend his time deep in the earth, exploring caves and ruins of a bygone era to see what secrets they held. He'd begun to let his mind wander, missing the last part of the boy's question. It likely mattered little though, he'd be more than capable of providing an answer that should be sufficient. "I guess you could say I'm here on a business trip. Sort of a vacation amidst work. But what about you young man? What brings you to Alola?" He didn't particularly want to go into detail about his reasons for being here with just anyone, and he frankly didn't like self-talk in general, so he made an effort to shift the attention back onto the boy. His tone had remained plain, and a faint smile still sat on his lips as he remained down to earth while maintaining his air of professionalism. |

Noah only nodded in response to Steven's answer that he was here for business, deciding it would be best not to press for answers. Honestly, he did not expect that he would be able to make any sense of a potential response from Steven, especially if there was business jargon involved. All he needed to know was that the business trip was probably something important. The young trainer reached down, grabbing two malasadas from the tray while Squirtle and Pikachu continued to feast. Thinking about it, Noah was surprised at the people he was meeting on his adventure. He never thought that he would meet big-time celebrities. He still had not found out mansion dude's name, but he naturally commanded an amount of respect that deemed him as important. Now, he was talking to some sort of business man, maybe even a CEO. One day, he needed to actually try to research them, but he had better stuff to do. "Oh, I'm here for the trials," Noah answered, taking a bite from the malasada. "I'm trying to become a great Water Pokémon Trainer, so I'm thinking that one of the trials should be able to help me with that. It's a bonus that Alola is a tropical paradise. I think I might catch some waves after completing the trial!" |

Hearing the young man's answer, Steven couldn't help but smile. His mind quickly went to back home in Hoenn and to Wallace. If this boy wanted to be a water type master, Wallace and he would likely cross paths one day. He questioned mentioning his relation to Wallace, the boy likely would be eager to hear what he could about one of the most prominent water type users in the world. But, he had work to do, and he wanted to get as much done as he could before his sister came. After all, once she showed up, she'd definitely ec\ncourage the vacation side of this trip. It seemed the best course of action would be to not mention his affiliation with Wallace. However, he wanted to do something, he was now in an even better mood after all. He looked the boy once over, looking into his eyes to see the passion he had. Taking note of his Pokémon as an extended hand grabbed the handle of his bag and spun it around closer to him. "That's a fairly lofty goal. Mastering all that a sole type of Pokémon has to offer. I know so many trainers around the world who are the elites of their types. With some hard work, maybe you could become one of them." He spoke with a smile and an encouraging charisma that was fairly uncommon for him to use unless addressing a select few individuals. He calmly opened one of the many zippers on his bag, reaching in while his attention remained on the boy. His has slid over the numerous wooden cases in the bag. Small containers holding shimmering stones in elegantly padded cells. He didn't even need to look to know which stone was which. He'd passionately packed each one with care, each having a place in his heart and mind. When he finally came to the one he was reaching for, he unfastened the small holding strap and carefully slid the small wooden box out of the bag. The fluidity of it all was comparable to a master surgeon, but that was simply a result of his passion for it all. "Allow me to give you a little something to use on your journey. While you aim to be a water type specialist one of the most jarring challenges you face will be overcoming their weaknesses. I want you to take this, and use it when you feel your Pokémon is ready." Steven was now holding the small box in both hands as he reached for the small gold clasp at the front of the box. Gently undoing it and lifting the lid. Inside, resting on soft, red fabric was a glistening thunderstone, polished to extreme brilliance that made the electric stone spark with light. "With this, you can evolve your Pikachu into a Raichu. Not only a useful Pokémon for completing the trials ahead of you, but also making your Pokémon a worthy force to train with. Overcoming electric types will be one of the many challenges you face on your way to mastery. Let this mark your first steps in overcoming them." He then waited for the boy to take the stone, his face still baring a charismatic, inviting smile that few have had the pleasure of seing in genuine. |

”You really think so?” Noah asked with a smile. ”It’d be great if I could become like those specialists. I still got a long way to go, but if you think I could do it, then I’ll just have to keep training harder.” Noah watched with glee while Steven scavenged through his bags, wondering what he was up. Unpacking seemed like a job to do when one finally entered their room and not when they are out in the middle of a public lobby. When he finally found the correct box, the young trainer could not help himself but gaze in awe upon seeing the shiny stone. If it could evolve Pikachu like he claimed, it would prove to be a great boon to him. She would be stronger and prove to be an excellent training partner to his Pokémon. It is even possible that she could prove to be a challenge to Poliwrath now. ”Woah,” Noah said in amazement, drawing the word out. ”This is so awesome! Thank you so much, Steven! This will get me one step closer to achieve my dreams!” Hesitantly, Noah took the thunderstone from its case, holding it carefully in both of his hands. Pikachu finished another malasada and looked up at her trainer, looking in shock at the sight of the stone. Slowly, she scurried to her trainer’s feet, looking up at him expectantly. Squirtle remained by the trey, still devouring the malasadas. There were only three left and he intended to eat every last one. The young trainer knelt down at the ground, holding the thunderstone towards his Pokémon. ”With this stone, you can evolve into a Raichu,” Noah explained to her. ”Now, I won’t force you to evolve at all if you like being a Pikachu. The option is always open for when-” Without warning, Pikachu placed her paws on top of the thunderstone held out to her, interrupting her trainer's explanation. Noah dropped the stone, backing away from her as she is slowly surrounded by a white sphere. The young trainer could see the Mouse Pokémon's form change until the light finally faded away. Pikachu had evolved but it was not quite what anyone expected from her. The shade of Raichu was darker, her tail was shaped as a surf board that she stood upon, and she was levitating off the ground. Noah's eyes followed her as she surfed around him and Steven in a test of her new powers. As a final act, the Mouse Pokémon flew by Squirtle, who had remained oblivious to his surroundings and held onto a final malasada. The pastry was lifted up from the air and into Raichu's hands, who levitated away with a big grin. Squirtle looked on in disbelief for a moment before chasing after her on his stubbly legs. "You two get back!" Noah chased after them then quickly turned his head around at Steven. "Thanks again! Best gift ever!" Edited by Archerlord, Jan 19 2018, 06:38 PM.
